Kim Carper, a native of Wilmington,
North Carolina, relocated to Charlotte in 1997 to pursue a career in singing. After attaining a Bachelors degree in music
education, Kim went on to earn her Masters of Music in vocal performance at UNCG. For ten years, Kim's
work as a professional jazz and blues singer has earned her invitations to perform at numerous prestigious festivals and events
such as Great Grapes, Charleston Food and Wine Festival, and the grand opening of Charlotte's Neiman Marcus. Kim also
sings regularly at numerous Charlotte staples such as Providence Cafe, Brio, Blue, The Westin, and Bonterra. With roots in classical music, Kim's transition to jazz and blues standards progressed into an even broader spectrum
of music by artists such as Sting, Sade, Cassandra Wilson, The Band, Bonnie Raitt, and Norah Jones. Her versatility as a
singer allows her to perform many different styles of music and win crowds over with her unique arrangements. Kim currently performs with such local greats as guitarists Van Sachs, Joe Lindsay, and Tom Billotto, bassists Gerard Benson
and Ron Brendle, keyboardist Mark Stallings, and Rodney Shelton, and drummers Donnie Marshall and Rick Murray .
